Here is a list of 10 Quebec novelties not to be missed:
1) AMAZING DETECTIVE: THE STONE-EYED GIRL (ILLICO CLUB, STARTS: DECEMBER 7)
This six-episode series is adapted from a best-selling novel by Jean Lemieux and takes place in Cap-aux-Meules, in the Îles-de-la-Madeleine. Our hero, André Surprenant (Patrick Hivon), is a detective sergeant and must investigate the disappearance and then the death of Rosalie Richard (Milya Corbeil-Gauvreau), the daughter of the mayor (Jean-François Pichette). This thriller series directed by Yannick Savard (Us, Caught…) They also star Catherine Brunet, Patrice Godin, Patrick Goyette, Marie-France Marcotte, Hubert Proulx, Nathalie Doummar, Mikhaïl Ahooja and Nicolas Fontaine.
2) THE CANDIDATE (TOU.TV EXTRA, STARTING: SEPTEMBER 21)

She is a single mother who makes her living doing nails and, about to turn 30, she is not happy with her boring existence. One day, Alix Mongeau (Catherine Chabot), who has no political aspirations, agrees out of friendship to be a candidate in a race in which she has no chance of winning. However, no luck: she is chosen! Therefore, she will have to learn on the spot the unusual profession of politician and its dangers.
3) THE REVOLTS (ILLICO CLUB, STARTS: SEPTEMBER 21)
In this novelty, a passionate lawyer who goes to the end of her convictions and an investigative journalist who listens to her instincts denounce the failures of the system, which often leads them to meet and sometimes team up. The first is called Éléonore St-Laurent (Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse) and the second, Jacob Gravel-Duquette (Pier-Luc Funk). They have in common a great thirst for justice.
4) INHALE EXHALE (LONGING, START: OCTOBER)
Sonia Cordeau and Virginie Fortin star in this novelty. They respectively play Sophie and Vicky, two women in their thirties from the same circle of friends. But they hate each other. The only thing that unites them is their date of birth, which is the same. Their classmates offer them what they think will benefit them: a yoga retreat together in the middle of nowhere, in the woods. Will the two opponents end up liking each other?
5) VINTAGE HEART (TOU.TV EXTRA, STARTING: DECEMBER)
This series starring Émilie Bibeau arises from an original idea of hers. It is directed by Rachel Graton and written by Pascale Renaud-Hébert, with the collaboration of Fanny Britt. Pauline (Émilie Bibeau), forty-something and childless, a fun and nostalgic bachelor who is looking for meaning in her existence, tries to face as best she can the ups and downs of romantic encounters and sentimental adventures of our time.
6) DOG TIME (TOU.TV EXTRA, STARTING: NOVEMBER)
The comedian François Bellefeuille returns to work as a veterinarian, as he already did in life, but this time it is a fiction. He plays Dr. Antoine Meilleur and, like Sébastien Kfoury, his work with animals has led him to become a television star. Everything is going well for this owner of a veterinary hospital and leader of a pet products empire, until an incident with a dog caught live on television implicates him in a scandal.
7) PAUL IN ALL HIS STATES (TRUTH, AS OF: NOVEMBER 14)

8) DOT! (TOU.TV EXTRA, STARTING: NOVEMBER)
This documentary series by Bianca Gervais directed by her lover, Sébastien Diaz, deals with an inexhaustible theme: exhaustion. The comedienne is said to be fatigued, and she has tried out the names of “remèdes” to try to get back their energy, which is not without vitamin supplements, yoga, meditation, therapy… Rien n’est venu à bout of sa of her tired! In this documentary she seeks to understand where fatigue comes from, what are the causes, in order to banish it from her life.
9) HEALTHY HOME (TOU.TV EXTRA, STARTING: DECEMBER)

Renew your home by being aware of your consumption, be it energy or resources. If at home working at home is often polluting, Christine Beaulieu has decided to do it respecting the environment, thanks to responsible and ecological choices. In order to help her, she has surrounded herself with people who have the same concerns as her. Please note that the title of the project is provisional.
10) THE WEIGHT OF APPEARANCE (CRAVE, START: SEPTEMBER 28)
How much weight? What am I releasing? Am I physically handsome or beautiful? These questions take up a lot of space in our daily lives, to the point that they can undermine our mental health. In this documentary, Phil Roy, in a personal approach, tries to find, with the help of experts, stakeholders, athletes and nutritionists, a balance between psychological well-being and physical appearance. We also discover the vulnerability of the comedian.
