Karnataka cabinet | The Congress party, which recently won the Karnataka assembly elections, formed its government in the state. On 20 May, Siddaramaiah took over as Chief Minister and DK Shivakumar as Deputy Chief Minister. On the same day, eight MLAs took oath as ministers. Along with these, at least 25 more ministers are to be appointed. Due to differences between CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar, no consensus could be reached on the formation of cabinet (Karnataka cabinet) on 19th May.
Along with this, the Panchayat for the post of minister has reached Delhi. It seems that this matter has reached some conclusion in the meeting held with the party leaders in Delhi. It is reported that the final list has been prepared after discussion with the high command on the issue of who should be given ministerial post. According to sources, 24 ministers will take oath on Saturday. Those who have already taken oath as ministers are not allocated portfolios. It seems that there is a possibility of division of portfolios after the cabinet expansion tomorrow. It seems that Siddaramaiah will meet Rahul Gandhi on this issue on Friday.
