En Avant Guingamp received AC Ajaccio this Monday, September 18 at the Roudourou stadium. In the presence of about 8,000 spectators, of which around twenty Corsicans were waiting in the stands reserved for visitors. Finally there were three left, affiliated with the group “I Sanguinaires”, which brings together 80 followers on the Isle of Beauty and in mainland France.
“We always say we come in groups of fifteen or twenty, to be sure the visitor parking lot will be open for us. In Guingamp there is never any problem, we are always well received,” says Loïc, who came by car from Montluçon. “It took me seven hours to get there, and the same for the return trip. “I have to be home at 8:30 a.m. to take my son to school.” His night promised to be very short. “I put the sleeping bag in the trunk,” smiles the man who made his 227th trip since 2011 to cheer on his favorite team.
At his side, Simón, from Paris, whose family is from Ajaccio, with whom he became friends throughout his travels. Difficult, with three, to win the game in the stands against the imposing and restless Kop Rouge. “The important thing,” say the two fans, “is to be there for our players. In the end they recognize us, greet us and, sometimes, give us a t-shirt.”
