Germany has finally found its new coach

The rest after this announcement.

Germany, directly qualified for Euro 2024, showed a very disappointing face during its campaign of friendly matches, under the command of Hansi Flick. The former Bayern Munich coach did not convince at all and was finally dismissed from his position after a humiliation suffered at home against Japan, during the last national team break (1-4). After Rudi Völler’s refusal to take over as coach, despite having managed to beat the French team in a friendly (2-1), the DFB (German federation) was looking for a replacement.

The name Julian Nagelsmann quickly stood out. While he had been sidelined since his departure from Bayern Munich in March 2023, the Bavarian club had indicated that it wanted to release Nagelsmann from his contract to help the national team recover. But doubts still persisted about his salary. The 36-year-old coach considered that the salary difference was too significant between what he received at Bayern (7 million euros per year) and his federation’s proposal (4 million euros per year).

The rest after this announcement.

image It specifies that Julian Nagelsmann gave up a lot of money to take over the position of Mannschaft coach, since he could still have received almost 20 million euros until 2026 from Bayern Munich. After passing through Hoffenheim, Leipzig and FC Bayern Munich, the German coach will thus discover a different experience until the next Euro 2024 and, for now, he should start looking for a new Euro Cup side.
