Ford’s electric SUV with Volkswagen technology appears on the web – La Tercera

Ford is developing a 100% electric SUV, which will be manufactured in Germany in collaboration with Volkswagen Group. Well, today Ford E Division leader Martin Sander revealed the first image of the future model on social networks, revealing part of the front bumper as well as a small section of the headlight.

In parallel, the European branch of Ford also published on its Twitter profile a teaser of the car in question, the name of which, moreover, is still a mystery. Thus, it shows its silhouette under the shade, also anticipating the luminous signature that the LED lights of the optical clusters will attract. A dazzling signature that follows the line marked by the latest Ford launches.

The North American brand confirmed that it is a mid-size SUV and can carry up to five adult passengers inside. As we said, this model is the result of the alliance that Ford has with the Volkswagen Group, which is why it will be built on the MEB platform, developed by the German group specifically for battery-powered cars.

While Ford did not go into details about the propulsion system, it has confirmed that it will have a range of 500 km per WLTP cycle.

It is important to emphasize that this is Ford’s first electric SUV to be manufactured in Europe. Notably, its serial production process will take place in Cologne (Germany) and it is expected to premiere next March.
