A Class V teacher arrested for allegedly thrashing a Class V girl student with scissors and then throwing her from the balcony of the first floor of a municipal school has been remanded to judicial custody till December 20, police said on Saturday. According to the police statement, according to an official, the incident took place on Friday morning at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi Girls School.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Shweta Chauhan said, “The accused was taken before a court on Saturday, which ordered his judicial custody till December 20.” The court further ordered that the accused be evaluated by a psychiatrist as well as by the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences.

On Friday, the student was allegedly attacked with scissors, her hair was chopped off, and then thrown from the first floor balcony of the school by her teacher Geeta Deshwal (26), before she along with others ” turned violent”. students in the classroom, news agency PTI reported.

According to doctors, the 11-year-old girl had a fracture in her facial bone. According to the police, the teacher locked herself in the classroom along with the students and started destroying their water bottles. He later stabbed the girl with a pair of scissors and threw her from the balcony of the first floor of the school building.

Deshwal was arrested on suspicion of attempt to murder, according to police, who said the motive for the act was still unknown.
