Consumer trends at Christmas continue to show that when it comes to shopping, toys are king, followed closely by clothing and technology.
Though the market seems to be affected by high import prices and currency fluctuations, businessmen have decided to reduce the profitability levels and maintain last year’s prices and various discounts so as not to hit the consumer’s pocket .

Christmas and Toy Fair executive Diego Fernando Gonzalez explained that “We are freezing prices for 2021 and most products are up to 20% off so that purchase levels are not affected. Inflation and all factors that reduce the consumption capacity of Colombians have led us to look for mechanisms that favor household spending,” he said.
Although toy entrepreneurs import a large number of products, they also support a large area of national production.

“Toys like cars, dolls, kitchens, balls are bought from Colombia. From overseas we bring the most sought after items by kids like Spiderman, Batman, Avengers, Paw Patrol characters. There are also collectible cars, and radio control, sports toys. For girls, fashion dolls from Barbie, Disney, Hasbro, among others are the big brands that are sold in the world”, she said.
