Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce
Happy New Year Central Delaware. Was it too soon?
The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) apologizes for any premature scares, but that’s right, 2023 is practically around the corner and the CDCC wants you, the community, to know about all things financial. The CDCC has your New Year’s Financial and Economic Resolutions in mind to equip you with the information to make better financial decisions on behalf of yourself and/or your business.
The registration deadline is quickly approaching (Jan. 13) for the CDCC’s 9th Annual Economic Forecast Breakfast, which is scheduled for Jan. 31, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. ET in the beautiful ballroom of Maple Dell Country Club in Dover. -9:30 am Join CDCC and BIG Investment Services for an educational and engaging start to your day talking with your local business professional community about a topic that affects us all – the economy. Speakers at this event will provide insight into the economic forecast at the federal, state and local levels to help members prepare and position their businesses for success in the year ahead.
Tickets for this event are only $27 for CDCC members and $32 for non-members. Members are encouraged to invite their representatives. For more information and to register by January 13, please visit the CDCC website at cdcc.net or call the office at 302-734-7513.
The financial industry can be intimidating and overwhelming, especially when that’s not your background. Business professionals have enough to worry about in the day-to-day operations of their businesses or their companies. Therefore, the CDCC’s Economic Forecast Breakfast is so important to attend because professionals in the industry will be able to provide people with easy-to-understand language on the highs, lows and ‘need to know’ information that will help you and your business. In addition to the educational benefits, this breakfast meeting of minds will also be a networking opportunity for everyone to connect with each other which may not always be possible on a normal weekday. CDCC hopes that all attendees will take advantage of this educational opportunity to network with professionals outside their direct professional fields.
Attendees can expect to hear from Big Investment Services, the primary sponsor of the event. Founder and Chairman David Boothe will be on hand to address, mentor and provide advice on the current economic market on a national level. The CDCC thanks Boothe and the BIG Investment Services team for not only sponsoring this beneficial event for another year, but also for being trusted experts for the Central Delaware community. Big Investment Services specializes in helping its clients plan for retirement, taxes, personal investing, college, risk management and estate planning. If you would like to learn more about BIG Investing Services, ideally you should attend the event and hear from representatives in person, visit their website at www.abigplan.com, or call them at 302-734-7526.
Expect to hear from Brenda Wise, director of policy and communications at the Delaware Office of Management and Budget. Wise brings a background in Delaware law and the experience of urging budget analysts to consider the financial implications of pending legislation. Wise is passionate about changing the system for Delawares at large, especially in the economic sphere. Everyone present will feel wiser after Wise’s state-of-the-art financial address.
Linda Parkowski, executive director of the Kent Economic Partnership/Choose Central Delaware, will be on hand to share her wealth of knowledge on the economic development of the local area. Being a Kent County native for over 30 years, Parkowski knows what the community needs and how to attract business to the area. His local insight on the economics of Central Delaware will definitely hit home, while providing direction for listeners to take what they’ve heard and apply it to their businesses or personal goals.
The CDCC can’t wait to watch the community connect and engage with each other as they learn about important financial matters that may affect them and their businesses in the coming new year.
