According to the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways’ report on Road Accidents 2020, weather conditions affect the condition of the road surface and the visibility of the motorist, thereby increasing the chances of accidents. Adverse weather conditions, such as heavy rain, dense fog and hail, make driving more dangerous as visibility decreases and the road surface becomes slippery.
However, according to the same report, nearly 3/4 of all vehicle accidents in 2020 occurred during sunny/clear weather. Only 18.4% of the total traffic accidents in 2020 were due to bad weather, such as rain, fog and hail/hail.
