The Assam Rifles on Tuesday foiled a PLA plan to disturb peace in Manipur when it captured two PLA insurgents from Telipati and Hirok areas of Imphal Valley in Manipur.
It informed in a tweet that five grenades, three pistols, three IEDs and three detonators have been recovered from them.

According to news agency ANI, the Assam Rifles said that during investigation, the captured insurgents confessed to their plan to target non-Manipuri locals, security forces and disrupt celebrations during the festive season in the Imphal Valley.

Earlier this month, Assam Rifles seized a huge amount of foreign currency in Mizoram and apprehended two persons in Siaha district.
It said in a statement on Twitter, “On 03 December 2022, Lunglei Battalion of #AssamRifles recovered a huge amount of foreign currency and two persons were apprehended from near Zongling, Block Tuipang, Siaha District.”
The PRO of IG Assam Rifles (East) said that based on specific information the operation was carried out near Zowling area of Tuipang block of Siaha district.

“The team had specific information about the movement of a vehicle on the Siaha-Tuipang-Zongling-Chankang road axis. Assam Rifles team set up a vehicle check post which intercepted the vehicle. A huge amount of Myanmar and Indian currency was recovered during the search operation. Two persons were also apprehended,” said the PRO of IG Assam Rifles (East).
