Accumulated property | For some time now, the authorities in the state of Jammu and Kashmir have been taking measures to prevent terrorist organizations from receiving funds. The State Investigation Agency (SIA) has attached assets worth Rs 100 crore of Jamaat-e-Islami on charges of funding separatists. SIA conducted this operation in Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kupwara, Baramulla districts. Similarly, the property of the commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba was also attached.

In the last 30 years, the Jamaat-e-Islami organization has established a vast empire in the valley. It has a large amount of real estate including land, shopping malls and schools. SIA officials said around 188 properties have been identified by the security agencies. It was found that more than 300 schools were being run in Kashmir alone. The value of these properties has been estimated at around Rs 1000 crore. All these properties will be confiscated soon. The bank accounts of these organizations will also be frozen.

Meanwhile, properties of absconding Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Abdul Rasheed alias Jahangir were seized by Doda authorities in Kashmir. His land in Khanpura village of Thatri in Doda district was confiscated as per the order of the magistrate. District SP Abdul Qayyum said that action will be taken against those operating from Pakistan.
