Abidjan receives a high-level Congolese delegation led by the Prime Minister

A delegation from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) travels to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from September 19 to 21, 2023, to promote the economic brand “Investing in the Democratic Republic of the Congo” and create business opportunities with Côte d’Ivoire. Ivory. Ivory.

The Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, will lead the delegation made up of several members of the Government, including the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy, Vital Kamerhe, the Minister of Finance, Nicolas Kazadi, the Minister of Agriculture, José Mpanda, and Minister of Foreign Trade, Jean-Lucien Mbusa, as well as the director general of the National Investment Promotion Agency of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Anthony Nkinzo.

The Congolese private sector will also be strongly represented. Several dozen business leaders active in sectors such as banking, agriculture, infrastructure and even energy will exchange with the Ivorian private sector with the aim of creating business opportunities. This high-level delegation represents the commitment of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to promote a favorable investment environment and explore new opportunities for economic collaboration with Côte d’Ivoire.

Through the economic brand “Investing in the Democratic Republic of the Congo”, the Congolese government and the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will present the economic assets of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, such as its young human capital and dynamic, its vast natural resources, its growing sectors and its recent economic reforms.

“In Abidjan we want to lay the foundations for a new era of economic cooperation between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Côte d’Ivoire. Our country is a preferred investment destination and we are ready to work closely with our counterparts in Côte d’Ivoire to stimulate economic growth in Africa,” said Anthony Nkinzo, Director General of the National Investment Promotion Agency of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (ANAPI) and President of the International Network of Francophone Investment Promotion Agencies (RIAFPI).

This trip to Ivory Coast is part of the 9th edition of the Makutano Business Forum, the first business network in Central Africa, which will be held on September 20 and 21, 2023 in Abidjan. In the coming weeks, “Invest in DRC”, represented by ANAPI, will continue its international promotion initiatives. These missions will include visits to the United States, Brazil, Europe and several African countries.

The National Agency for the Promotion of Investments (ANAPI) is the advisory body of the central government and the provincial governments of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in matters of investment promotion and improvement of the business climate. Its mission is to promote the opportunities offered by the Democratic Republic of the Congo and provide administrative support to all investors who decide to establish or expand their economic activities in Congolese territory. Placed under the supervision of the Ministry in charge of Planning, ANAPI is the initiative and coordination of several fundamental reforms in the tax, legal, accounting and institutional fields.
